Quality Assurance (Software) Technician The company is a vibrant and growing technology company based in Wareham, Dorset. We are looking for a full-time software tester to join our Quality Assurance team, in order to meet new challenges and markets. This is an entry level QA role, which additionally offers the potential to move towards a junior developer position in the future, if desired. Our software suite is used by customers across the globe, from the United States to New Zealand, with users on all five continents. We service the Cinema, Theatre and Attractions market in all areas of technology including Admissions, Retail, Hospitality, Digital Signage, Web and Mobile. Responsibilities As a QA Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out manual testing on desktop, website, mobile applications, assessing the right processes and best practices for testing, as well as continually increasing test coverage. You will provide direction on user interface and application flow in order to ensure the quality of our product from a user experience perspective. You will work closely with the other teams within the business to consistently improve functional quality and performance through our product suite. Document and maintain manual test plans for desktop, web, and mobile products Create well organised test scripts and processes Execute functional, user acceptance tests and regression tests to deliver stable releases Assist the QA Team Leader and other teams with the creation of documentation for software releases Assist the QA Team Leader to agree the testing approach and priorities for tests Ensure the quality of our product, including visual and user interface direction Provide assistance to the Support, Development and Web teams by investigating and testing defect cases Document user guides for new functionality and maintain existing guides Required Skills Problem solving skills, being able to think ‘outside the box’ Attention to detail Good time management and ability to work to deadlines Ability to work in a team and independently, as projects dictate Strong communication skills Desired Skills Experience in formulating and executing test cases and scripts Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel.
