JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an HR Advisor to join a small but established HR Team, on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. The HR Advisor will be responsible for delivering and handling general enquiries on a full range of HR activities and be comfortable working in a fast paced, often demanding / challenging environment. The HR Advisor will provide support and guidance to employees across the wider business, whilst building and developing relationships with colleagues and supporting the HR Manager with additional projects, as required. Previous HR experience is essential, along with the ability to take initiative and support the HR Manager and other key members of the team, whilst taking ownership of a variety of HR tasks. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with the HR Manager and HR co-ordinator in the delivery of the organisations objectives and contribute towards the achievement of its strategies. Provide proactive, responsive and high quality generalist HR advice and support to staff, with particular focus on employee relations, absence and performance management, inclusion & diversity, conduct and capability and talent management. Support the HR Manager on disciplinary and grievance casework, ensuring the effective implementation of legislation, policies and best practice. Support and / or lead 1st / 2nd stage disciplinary hearings, either alongside or in place of the HR Manager and take ownership of any subsequent follow up paperwork. Work closely with the HR Co-Ordinator to manage recruitment, arrange and conduct interviews and deal with enquiries or issues that arise with temp staff / agency workers Work closely with the HR Co-Ordinator to oversee the general day to day HR Administration and to ensure that all policies and procedures are updated as required. Take initiative and ownership for additional HR related tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the HR Team and supporting the HR Manager, within a very demanding environment SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Proven experience of working within a HR Advisory/Generalist role within a large organisation Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and the ability to quickly adapt, in a demanding environment Proactive approach, with the credibility to engage with employees at all levels Results orientated with the confidence to manage multiple priorities and support the senior management team with additional, often confidential projects. An excellent communicator who can be relied upon to manage a varied workload and show initiative to solve problems Significant experience of HR administration, employee relations, recruitment principles and practices and ideally a working knowledge of Employment Law - our client is a member of a well-established HR / Legal Advice Line and encourage the use of this additional support, as required. Experience leading/ supporting senior management with disciplinary and grievance casework, ensuring the implementation of legislation, policy and best practice. Previous experience of working on people change programmes and internal restructure projects, would be advantageous. An eye for detail and figures would be ideal as you would be required to calculate and collaborate data relating to average salaries, overtime, bonuses etc. An upbeat, positive attitude is essential as is the ability to work within a small team and on your own initiative.
