We're looking for like-minded Ruby Developers who feel the same What you will do; Build APIs and web applications using Ruby that handles complex data models efficiently, while having a great architectural design to manage complexity Establish technical decisions and direction for one or many projects/teams Actively work to improve the company’s technical awareness Improve features in our existing software Build the next version of our software Perform code reviews Assess the technical feasibility of new product features Enhance productivity through automation and process improvement Engage in weekly online sprint meetings Tech Stack; AWS Ruby on Rails AngularJS NodeJS Python MySQL Redis Sidekiq Vagrant Docker Bash Ideal person spec; 3 years of professional experience building software applications 2 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails You can consume and utilize new languages, design patterns, APIs and toolsets Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process preferred Knowledge of modern technologies like Docker, GitHub, Continuous Integration, etc. preferred Must have experience basic Linux/Unix CLI and using Git and GitHub for source code control Applies best practices including design patterns and linting to all software development Approaches engineering requests from a user's vantage point to form architectural and technical requirements Capable of debugging problems related to HTTP, XHR, JSON, CORS, SSL, S3, etc. Extensive experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) Knowledgeable with MVC frameworks and related concepts An excellent grasp of modern JavaScript frameworks / ES, HTML, and CSS Solid understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, data structures, and striving to apply best practices Writing unit tests and is familiar with TDD Professional experience building APIs using Ruby Comfortable working in a cloud environment like AWS Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery systems like Jenkins Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus For more information about these exciting roles, please get in touch with Mike Walton at Avanti / apply now This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89942058
