STRUCTURAL ENGINEER JOB IN LONDON AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR A STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER IN LONDON Your new company An award winning Structural and Civil Engineering consultancy specialising in the design of building structures and the associated civil engineering infrastructure. Their current workload is a mixture of new-build and refurbishment work, for the residential, commercial, leisure and educational sectors, with values up to £200 million, as well as building survey work and structural assessments. Many of our projects have previously received design awards and accolades, and our varied workload offers the successful candidate the opportunity to broaden their experience working with some of the country's top architectural practices and leading contractors. Your new role You will work as a Structural Design Engineer and work on the design of building structures in all the common engineering materials. You will work on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, education, green projects, healthcare, heritage & the arts and civic & community. In your new role you will be fully involved in project design from commencement to completion and will be responsible for preparing structural design calculations. Competence with computer analysis of structures and design of structural elements in most common materials i.e. steel, concrete, composite, masonry and timber is essential. You will be able to work independently to enable the smooth running of projects. You will represent the organisation at design team meetings with key clients and stakeholders and will be heavily involved in the business development of the company. What you'll need to succeed Candidates should be designed focused, with structural engineering design experience, be technically proficient, able to work with initiative and have a high level of independence and excellent communication skills. to have the ability to communicate well and develop client relationships, good organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure, be able to adapt to different cultures and working environments, a flexible attitude to the level of responsibility given and the type of work undertaken and to be a curious minded individual who enjoys collaborations and exchanging ideas with others. You will be expected to have input to clients and senior management, to attend project meetings, and be proficient in the use of modern design software, 2D and 3D analysis and AutoCad and Revit or other drafting packages.
