Project Manager, Digital Services, Derby Porterbrook Leasing Company specialises in the leasing and asset management of passenger and freight railway rolling stock and associated equipment.Based in Derby with a corporate Head Office in London, the organisation is undertaking a period of transformational change as it responds to the changing landscape in rail and is taking an active lead in the industry in terms of innovation. The ability to maximise the advantages of digital services within the industry will be a game changer in terms of reliability and performance. The Project Manager Digital Services is a new role with an ambitious and exciting remit.Working under the direction of the Head of Digital Services, this role will manage a portfolio of projects including those to establish the proof of concept of several innovative propositions.Working with a wide range of stakeholders this role will lead on the end to end programme delivery using an agile approach, managing multiple projects within the programme of work. Other elements of the role will be to interface on the development of whole life maintenance plans using data to create reliability centred maintenance programmes which improve performance and reduce costs. Our ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer or someone working towards this standard with a proven track record in complex project management within a rail engineering environment. You will have led projects from concept through to delivery and the associated reporting and benefits tracking.Ideally with a qualification in project management, you will have a strong balance of engineering and commercial skills to ensure that the projects deliver on time, to budget and realise the financial benefits for both the business and our customers. Experience of Agile would also be an advantage. In addition, you will have a deep understanding of the benefits of digital services to the rail industry and be passionate about the opportunities this will bring.
