Permanent Infrastructure Engineer opportunity with a rapidly growing IT consultancy based in Sheffield. Your new company An expanding IT consultancy with multiple sites throughout the U.K are looking to add an Infrastructure Engineer to provide effective remote support to support customers. Your new role Within this role, you'll mostly be tasked to provide remote support to contract customers for their server, network, desktop and laptop issues. You'll be effectively communicating with customers to resolve their issues and act as an escalation point for the Service Desk. Often the issues can be resolved remotely, however you may have to visit the customer if suitable to service the incident effectively. You will be responsible for prioritising and servicing the customer requests in accordance to their service level agreements, completing technical projects designated by the Service Management team and monitoring the progress of Service Desk queries assigned to you and your team, coaching and guiding more junior members to up-skill. You'll be proactive in identifying, monitoring and resolving problem management tickets generated via event and incident management systems and provide technical information to the internal Service Desk for ticket resolution. Lastly, you'll be responsible for the completion of technical documentation in relation to service transition and knowledge base updates. What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, the organisation are looking for an individual with around 3 years experience in a similar role, ideally from an MSP background. They would want you to possess experience within Microsoft technologies including SCCM, Intune, Active Directory and Windows Networking up to Enterprise class. You should have previously worked with Service Management tools to manage changes, incidents, problems and requests. You should be able to demonstrate logical problem solving abilities and show a good technical understanding of Windows Servers, Active Directory, networking LANs and WANs, Switches, Firewalls, Backup Technologies, SaaS and PaaS. Lastly, if you have experience working towards ITIL principles and hold qualifications within this field, this will benefit your application. Lastly, any experience with Apple platforms, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, Powershell, Office 365 Hybrid will add to your chances of success.
