Health Protection Infection Prevention & Control Lead Management Grouping: Adult Social Care & Health Department: Public Health Location: Civic Offices, Bexleyheath Salary: £44,628 - £52,086 (inclusive of Choices Flexible Benefit of £2,370, per annum Contract: Permanent/36 hours Closing Date: Monday 6 th April 2020 Anticipated Interview Date: w/c Monday 13 th April 2020 Job Reference: ASCH000171 Public Health in Bexley is looking for a dynamic and professionally qualified Health Protection Infection Prevention & Control Lead to support the Director of Public Health in delivering the corporate vision for Bexley, particularly the key Health Protection aspects of the Public Health Outcomes Framework. You will take the lead in ensuring there are clear and robust health protection and infection prevention arrangements, embedded across a range of organisations which aims to protect the health of the public in Bexley. You will work in collaboration with teams across the Local Authority, Bexley CCG, Oxleas Foundation Trust, Primary Care and other relevant agencies to develop new models of working. In addition, you will be required to provide expert advice to NHS Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on all infection prevention and control matters. This is an extended role to the CCG that includes quality monitoring of local providers against national infection prevention and control standards and evidence-based best practice. The post encompasses key technical and clinical roles in the Council and CCG business. This relates to areas such as; infection control in care homes and other statutory council provided settings, Post Infection Review (PIR) of MRSA blood stream and other healthcare associated infections (which have financial implications to the NHS Hospitals implicated) and various schemes of work on infection control. You will be required to influence the commissioning of a range of services, developing, implementing and performance managing specialist key success indicators which will measure progress towards achieving national and local targets. Therefore, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will have experience of infection prevention & control and knowledge of public health and health protection. You will also have a master’s level of education in Public Health, Infection Prevention, Risk Management related degree or substantial professional experience in Health Protection and Infection Prevention & Control. You will be registered on the Nursing &Midwifery Council (NMC) or General Medical Council (GMC) “live” Register.
