Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – based in Cosham, Portsmouth Paying up to £60,000 per annum plus benefits including Bonus, Vitality Healthcare, Private Medical Insurance, Pension (5% Contribution), 25 days holiday (increasing with service), staff discount, casual dress code, plus much more Purpose of role: The Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible in assisting the Cloud & Infrastructure Manager to bridge the gap between IT Operations and Development. Their tasks will be to design and document new initiative coming from the business and to advise on the technologies to use, if it be Cloud or On-premise. As a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer you will be required to seamlessly transition between technologies and platforms. You will be expected to carry out a multitude of different activities, including, but not limited to, design, maintenance and planning. Not only will you be experienced in cloud-based tech, you will have a firm grasp of on-premise platforms and applications and have intimate knowledge of how best to customise systems to cater for the business and to help them become more secure and efficient. Key Responsibilities: Working in the engineering team, while also working with the Front and/or Backend development teams to identify and implement the most optimal solutions for the company based on requirements. Managing the Azure environment by making policies and setting standards for its use within the business. Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel. Creation and maintenance of technical documentation. Orchestrating and automating internal processes. Designing and building redundant services in the cloud. Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they escalate. Using your knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services and integrate them with existing data providers. Development of system management, administration and automation routines in Bash, PowerShell or .NET. Good understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security. Experience: Any experience in supporting and maintaining an e-commerce platform. Certification as a Cloud Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification (Other cloud-related certification also a plus.) is advantageous. Around 5 years of Server and Cloud infrastructure administration Around 5 years working with Microsoft Azure, with some of this time in the area of Serverless components. Solid experience of using PowerShell/Azure CLI.
