Overview

Our client based in Bristol is recruiting for a Covenant Analyst to join their team. With the growing client base and to improve the efficiency of our service delivery it was decided to add a fully dedicated Covenant Analyst to the team. Our client is looking for a Covenant Analyst on an Associate or Senior Associate level. This role requires excellent analytic and communication skills, along with a drive to learn about and understand the financial health of businesses. You will analyse company accounts and financial statements, identify key trends, strengths and weaknesses. This will require you to use your technical skills to collect and collate the relevant data and analyse them in a time efficient manner. You will prepare the required summary tables and charts, and draft the report incorporating these along with the relevant explanations and commentary. Main duties and responsibilities Gather information from relevant sources (including requesting information from companies and obtaining publicly available information) as part of employer covenant projects. Use various data sources to obtain relevant information, such as DataStream, Companies House, or equivalent. Analyse financial statements of companies and other information received to assess the current financial position of employer(s), both on a qualitative and quantitative basis. Prepare draft reports and / or presentations of varying degrees of detail, setting out the results of the employer covenant analysis. Research various industries, sectors or companies, as required for client works and/or business development. Assist with a range of marketing related activities regarding the Covenant Advisory Team and XPS Pensions more generally, including: Essential High degree of professional integrity. Strong numerical and analytical background. Diligent, with exceptional attention to detail. Strong desire to learn and work within a dynamic team Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing skills. Ability to work in a team towards targets and deadlines Highly organised with the ability to actively manage projects and workload. Adaptable and reliable, with the ability to adjust priorities and multi-task. Skills in the fields of accounting, finance and/or economics. Commitment to client service and assisting team members. Ability to work with other professionals, e.g. actuaries and lawyers Desire to contribute to idea generation and the confidence to express a view Friendly, personable and able to work as an effective member of a team. Desirable No formal prior knowledge or experience relating to the employer covenant area is required, although any experience of working in a client focused environment or in a numerate discipline would be useful. Prior experience of financial analysis or in accounting or would be an advantage. Basic understanding of the UK pensions industry
