Overview
Targets… they’re like marmite, right? You either love them or you hate them. If you like working towards targets and you enjoy helping people then you’ll do well here. What will my working day look like? You will be on the phone a lot; making outbound calls and handling inbound enquiries. Individuals or businesses may call with queries about their account or you might need to call them to arrange payments. Either way, customer service is key and it’s your responsibility to professionally handle all communications, written or verbal. Your targets will be based around quality, cash collocation, and productivity. A large part of your role is making sure debts are resolved in a timely and efficient manner whilst ensuring FCA guidelines are followed at all times. It’s not a typical contact centre environment, the management team have worked hard to create more of an office setting and all employees are trusted to crack on with their work under minimal supervision. You won’t have to work weekends; usually, you will work standard office hours and rotate later shifts with your team. There is an opportunity to earn bonus, too (and it is realistic) What do I need? You will need to have experience in a customer-focused role, any experience in debt collections would be a huge advantage but it’s not a must; they will teach you what you don’t know. A confident telephone manner is important, too. Some calls can be tricky to handle, you’ll need to adopt a firm but fair approach in your work so confidence is a must or you might struggle.
