Overview

Our client is expert in developing and manufacturing specialist cleaning products. They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Development Chemist to lead product development and ensure all products conform to safe and legal requirements Duties: Leading the development of new and existing products in the laboratory. Ensure products are appropriately tested and comply to meet; the agreed marketing brief, safety issues and legislation requirements in country of sale. Leading the scale up of successful laboratory NPD/EPD projects into full scale production. Management of the Junior Chemist. Driving his/her development, mentoring and training. Be the responsible person for legislation. Ensuring all products, componentry and chemical formulations comply with legal requirements; both in the UK and abroad Work with Technical Manager to ensure correct quality standards for incoming materials, batch mixes and finished products are set and correctly monitored by the Quality Department Provide Technical Support to the Production Department. Advising on matters such as when (Out of specification - OOS) occur and any other technical matters. Be the Production HACCP Team Leader. Ensure all products and production process are appropriately risk assessed. Provide Technical Support to the Quality Department. Advising on matters such as when technical quality issues arise, attend supplier visits and certification audits. Act as the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor. Working with Operations Department to ensure all transportation of goods is conducted safely and complies to legislative requirements. Act as Laboratory Manager. Ensure the laboratory is kept clean, organised, has adequate PPE and equipment consumables etc. Provide technical advice to customers and suppliers when required. Attend relevant industry conferences and events. Qualification and experience Qualified to Graduate level Chemical Knowledge Ability to carry out chemical analysis Knowledge of statistical analysis. Product knowledge. Project planning.
