Full-time Children Residential - Merthyr - UK Drivers license required Hays Social Care are seeking Residential Support Workers on a Temporary to permanent basis working in a 4 bed home near Merthyr. The home offers placements to young people between the ages of 8 to 18, who have social, emotional, behavioural difficulties. This is a high quality home for young people offering an atmosphere which promotes security, trust, fairness and privacy for its young people within a safe and caring environment, so it is important that you are passionate about working with young people. The home will offer an environment with a person-centred approach to help young people regain the balance in their lives and prepare the them for the next stage of their life, whether that is returning to their family, moving on to foster care or independent living. As a Support Worker you will set boundaries for young people that may display challenging or emotional behaviour, whilst developing a relationship built on mutual trust. You will also provide practical care to increase their independent living skills, promoting self-esteem and self-awareness, to encourage achievement and to help the them to reach their full potential. Whilst the role of a Support Worker offers variety, superb progression opportunities and training, it takes a courageous and committed individual to really succeed at the role. Experience is not essential, but a positive attitude, friendly persona and a caring nature are an absolute must. Requirements You will need to be flexible with working hours, including days, evenings, weekends and nights. If not already qualified, a willingness to undertake QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People Full Driving Licence A minimum of 6 months experience as a Support Worker, preferably within a Children's Residential setting.
