Overview

Soldering Production Operator £8.55 / £8.72ph, full time overtime potential We are looking for an experienced Solderer for currently available Soldering Production Operator positions with our electronics design & manufacturing client who are based in North Lanarkshire. Applicants must have experience in soldering through pin hole and surface mount in a fast-paced production / manufacturing environment with the ability to work to the highest quality standards meeting strict output deadlines. You must be able to follow written work instructions and drawings and work as part of a team. Soldering is the main responsibility of the role, but duties will also include manual assembly, potting, testing and packing of final product. Please note - your pin hole and surface mount soldering experience must be clearly noted on your CV or covering letter otherwise your application will not be progressed. Applicants who are invited to interview stage will be required to also demonstrate their soldering skills as part of this process. You will be working in a busy manufacturing environment where manual dexterity and attention to detail is essential. Duties include general production line work and soldering of various types of PCB’s, assembly and testing, machine operating, batch control and segregation, quality control, packing and labelling. We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic people who can demonstrate flexibility, which is essential, with the ability to undertake a variety of production duties as and when required. Must be able to remain focused whilst under pressure and have good attention to detail to achieve accurate and on time delivery to customers. Required skills include: Ability to work towards IPC-A-610 Certification in Electronic Assemblies A high level of dexterity and hand/eye co-ordination Capable of a high level of numeracy and literacy Ability to work and meet set targets in the production area Have an understanding of how to interpret work instructions and follow drawings Quality checking products to meet customer specification Packing products according to set instructions Ensure a high standard of housekeeping and Health & Safety is maintained at all times The starting rate of pay is £8.55 per hour rising to £8.72ph after 3 months, and you would be working a 9 day Monday - Friday fortnight pattern where every second Friday is a non-working day for you. Hours are Monday - Thursday 7.45am - 4.45pm & every second Friday 7.45am - 11.45am. Additional overtime is also sometimes available as well, but it is sporadic, not guaranteed and is depending on workloads. Overtime is paid at the rate of time and a third Monday - Friday, time and a half on a Saturday, and double time on a Sunday. Holiday allowance is 25 days per year plus 8 company days that are reserved for business closure days. Applications will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
