Overview

The Company Our client is an established and successful manufacturing company based in Gateshead. They are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis for up to 7 months. The Role Processing of starters, leavers and absences through inputting payroll Maintain the clocking-in system time records, to aid in the production of wages payments/deductions Checking and balancing the payroll, through timesheet input and payroll calculations Holiday and absence administration and records Preparing files for transmitting monies to the bank through our finance department Resolving queries from employees relating to payroll and pensions, communicating with and outside the Finance team Process tax code changes, produce P45’s, RTI / HMRC submissions Process pension submissions Reconcile and compare reports through the use of spreadsheets General admin- liaise with internal and external clients and any other duties that may be required. Participate in any staff review/performance management processes involving the identifying and meeting of training needs for self and others. Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post. Comply with all companies policies and procedures The Person Experience in a payroll environment An understanding of payroll methods and taxation Experience in SAGE 50 payroll software Strong IT Skills Commitment to continuous professional development (which can be evidenced) Appropriate Payroll qualifications at minimum of Level 2. Ability to manage multiple tasks whilst working to tight deadlines Strong communication skills both written and verbal Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel Accuracy, numeracy and consistency in all payroll duties Ability to build and maintain relationships Work well within a team and autonomously A sense of ownership and pride in the role The Benefits Friendly working team Parking onsite Sociable working hours Gain experience and enhance current skills
