Overview
Data Engineer / Developer - Azure Data Factory, PIG/HIVE, SQL Two Data Engineers / Developers required to join industry leading data team who operate across insurance and actuarial verticals. We’re looking for Candidates with at least a couple of years post-grad data / BI experience and a keen interest in all things data. The ideal candidate is an engineer that loves to work with large data sets, enjoys developing highly performance data pipelines and is an innovative self-starter. The tech space is constantly evolving so it is essential that candidates are able to learn new processes and technologies quickly. Requirements Below is a list of the skills and background that align with projects that the firm are currently working on or plan to work on in the near future; • Engineering, technical, physical science degree, or relative technical work experience • Experience working with big data technologies o Azure Data Factory, Hadoop PIG/HIVE, SQL Data Warehouse • Java, Python or C# • Experience building solutions leveraging the cloud (Azure, AWS, etc.) • Experience working with large data sets • An understanding of general data warehousing, and BI best practices • Understanding of OLAP technologies The firm have offices throughout the UK but would require the incumbents here to be based mainly from their office in the Midlands / Birmingham area.
