Applications Engineer

A global leading automated material handling equipment supplier is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join their team in the regional office based in Northamptonshire. The company supply automated handling equipment and maintenance service packages to an array of well-known blue-chip companies for their distribution centres across the UK with the majority being new fully automated sites. As an Applications Engineer you will be supporting the Sales department on new customer projects from concept to final proposal. This could include drawings, parts lists, estimates, quotations, presentations and documentation. Benefits: C£35k (dependant on experience) 25 days holiday Possible career progression Some UK Travel to support varying projects Key skills of Applications Engineer: Design cost effective solutions in 2D and 3D CAD to meet client specifications and in line with company compliance standards. Ensure specifications / drawings are available to customer deadlines. Liaise with external suppliers for projects quotations Compile quotations and cost estimates to build project costings Use project recording systems to ensure documentation is maintained and to company standards. Compile project presentation material for client sales meetings Provide support to other departments when required (i.e. inspections, surveys, sales meetings) Qualifications / Experience required: Previous Applications Engineer experience Computer skills – CAD 2D & 3D, Microsoft packages, Project Management software, Understanding of engineering principles Automated handling equipment product knowledge is highly desirable Analytical skills Customer orientated and commercially aware Basic knowledge of contract law If you are an experienced Applications Engineer looking for a great opportunity, please contact Stuart Cooper directly on for further details.
