Trade Compliance Officer - Export
Overview
Primary Purpose of Role: To assist in the promotion and implementation of import/export compliance within the UK in accordance with all applicable laws & regulations, Thales Group Policy and UK Export Compliance Programme. Key responsibilities: Assist & support line manager by performance of compliance activities within the function and other departments. To review and approve where necessary, all trade compliance documentation as directed by the line manager e.g.: CECCs, End User Statements, DSP5s and other supplier licenses, TAAs, MLAs Sales Order/Contracts and Purchase Orders/Subcontracts/Purchase Agreements to establish trade compliance requirements and to ensure that all relevant information has been included within the associated document. To apply for UK export approval, ensuring that End User Statements, F680 approval etc. is in place. To apply for US EAR licenses, using SNAP-R To liaise with Thales internal functions to ensure US export legislation is implemented correctly, including guidance for Technology Control Plans, US export approvals, re-transfer authorisation etc. The physical import of technology/ software and hardware: To undertake appropriate checks for ITAR material(US suppliers) and ensure DSP’s are obtained and programmes notified of authorised parties To manage the return of any temporary imports, ensuring that the goods are returned in a timely manner to meet international customs & licensing requirements Arrange transport from suppliers in the most cost effective manner and to ensure safe delivery to Thales and/or customer site To communicate effectively with airline agents to ensure that goods arrive in a timely manner and in good physical condition to the designated Thales and/or customer site Manage the IPR, OPR, MEU authorisations and renewals The physical export of technology/ software and hardware, by Undertaking the more complex programs and shipments as required, Ensuring that all UK controlled material is clearly identified and associated export licence / end-user certificates are in place, prior to releasing goods Undertaking all Letter of Credit shipments, document preparation and presentations Obtaining the approval of Carnet applications raised Monitor & progress the return of any temporary export (other than loan/exhibition), Assist as required with UK Trade Compliance activities, including, but not limited to:- Transfer of Technology Preparation for and support of internal and external audits of the Trade Compliance function as required To meet defined annual objectives for the Trade Compliance team To advise the Site Lead Trade Compliance Officer of any situation liable to lead to a possible dispute or violation in relation to any compliance issue Monitoring, management and reporting of any actions required in order to achieve improved compliance within the function and other departments. In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
