On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Media Relations Manager / External Communications Consultant for a 6 month contract based in London. Purpose of the Role: The Retail Media Relations Manager will support the Senior Media Relations Manager in delivering of a programme of high quality Retail Bank focussed external communications. The role holder will primarily support delivery of a first class media relations service and when required, will work in partnership with other teams in the Communications department (public affairs etc) As a Media Relations Manager you will be responsible for: To support the Senior Media Relations Manager and contribute to the development and implementation of the Retail Banking external communications strategy. In conjunction with the Senior Media Relations Manager, support provision of high quality external communications consultancy and advice to business leaders. To build and maintain a good working relationship with the Retail business. To build and maintain good relationships with the print, online and broadcast media and in particular the Personal Finance Press. To arrange and support media contact programmes in conjunction with Retail Bank Media Relations Manager. To prepare press releases, reactive statements, articles, blogs and briefing notes as required. Develop proactive campaigns and ideas for review by the Retail Media Relations Manager. Work with the Retail leadership team and central Complaints team to manage complaints that have media involvement. What we require from the candidate: Financial Sector Knowledge - 3 years of experience in Media Relations in an in-house or consulting role. Knowledge of the Retail Banking sector and understanding of the linkages into wider Financial Services. The ability to quickly assimilate complex financial and organisational information. Excellent writing skills: Track-record of writing in different styles, including consumer / business audiences and on a range of subjects across the Retail Banking sector. Numerate, comfortable working with corporate and financial information in a commercial environment. Excellent verbal communication and influencing skills: Proven track record as an effective Media Relations executive / spokesperson in a busy press office for a high profile brand or organisation Santander will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
