Position: Financial Crime Analyst Reporting to: Head of AML Framework and Operations Location: Warrington, UK Our client is a rapidly growing, leading London-based fintech firm, focusing solely on monetising future cashflows and providing early funding to suppliers. Our client is an active and established investor in supply chain finance assets utilising its own balance sheet as well as that of its subsidiary bank based in Germany. As well as holding assets, the team actively distributes assets to a wide range of investors including banks and institutional investors, in turn creating a wide range of credit appetite for its deals. The ideal candidate will be proficient in supporting the implementation of an organisation’s Financial Crime Management framework. Experience in the management, planning and undertaking customer due diligence (CDD) reviews of new and existing clients. Ensure high quality and controls of customers on-boarding processes and the re-assessment of its clients to strengthen the control framework and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations. The role includes liaison with Origination, customer onboarding, risk and operations across the business. Key job activities: • Support the development and implementation of the financial crime framework, associated policies and procedures. • Conduct reviews of new prospects and existing clients, assessing the risk profile and KYC documentation, resolving any issues found by liaising with Origination and Senior Management where necessary. • Undertake PEP reviews and prepare reports for senior management approval. • Assist the business as and when required on financial crime related queries, by providing advice and guidance, outlining options and recommending solutions as appropriate. • Assist in the review and update of department procedures and drive system and process improvements. • Perform regular business controls reviews and collate information, report on and share the results of control reviews with all relevant stakeholders, and where issues are identified ensure they are being escalated on a timely basis. • Support the preparation and continuous enhancement of monthly Financial Crime Risk reporting including key risk measures, events, control effectiveness and dashboards. • Support the championing of a proactive Financial Crime risk culture across the business. • Support the delivery of face to face training to relevant staff internally on regulatory requirements in relation to KYC reviews. • Support the Head of AML Framework and Operations in the management of all financial crime compliance issues. • Support the wider Risk Team as directed by line management. • Maintain a working knowledge of regulations relating to Financial Crime Qualifications: • Degree level education Business or Finance subjects preferred. • ICA Financial Crime qualification (Intermediate or Advanced level) preferred. Skills: • Extensive Financial Crime and/or KYC experience working within a Financial Institution that operates in multiple jurisdictions. • Experience of developing policies and procedures. • Experience in conducting reviews of new prospects and existing clients, assessing the risk profile and KYC documentation including sanctions. • Solid AML Compliance experience with a good understanding of AML laws, rules and regulations within the EMEA region as well as those within at least one other region i.e. US, or APAC. • Knowledge of AML, ABC, Fraud, Sanctions, KYC, customer data, and related systems is desirable. • Knowledge of undertaking PEP reviews and writing an approval report for senior management. • A good working knowledge of JMLSG. • Understanding of commercial financial products, accounts receivables and the payments industry. • Experience of working within a high-pressure environment, managing activities to tight timelines and displaying collaboration across multiple stakeholders by driving continuous improvements and efficiency initiatives. Experience: • Minimum three years relevant experience of working within a Financial Crime function either within a large or challenger bank, financial institution or regulated fintech.
