Are you a Software Engineer with a fascination for automation and deployment? Would you like to be the Principal DevOps Engineer for the largest implementation of AWS Lambda in Europe? Do you relish the challenge of coaching Engineers on how to ensure their builds are reliable, scalable and performant? Then this Principal DevOps Engineer role could be the one for you. We are working with a well-known retail company, that has bucked the industry trend and delivered great financial results over the past couple of years. Key to their success has been an ambitious re-platforming which has ensured they are a market leader in eCommerce. The new platform has been built in TypeScript (Node/React) and is hosted on AWS - they are now the largest consumer of AWS Lambda in Europe. The Platform team is responsible for ensuring that they can deliver highly reliable products at scale. A key part of your role as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer will be to work closely with Engineers to ensure they build with scalability and reliability in mind. Mainly working on various projects - like the building of cool new features - you will be expected to understand requirements then deliver solutions that will ensure our customer can meet expected performance and reliability standards. Automation is key to the role and you will be building out applications that will make the life of the Engineers easier. Our expectation is that you will have spent time as a Software Engineer so understand the challenges they face and can propose effective solutions. We don't mind which language you've worked with in the past, as long as you are happy to build applications in Python in the future.
