Section Supervisor (Signalling) Location: Par or Plymouth – Works on the Western Route Rate: £247 per day – In scope of IR35 Term: 6 months initially Our client is a well-established Nationwide Rail company whose professionalism and well-respected name have been instrumental in their success. Our client is looking for a Section Supervisor to assist the Section Manager in the inspection, maintenance and renewal of Assets to standards and within agreed resource levels, budget and unit cost measures. Supervise the delivery of work and undertake specific inspections as required. Essential: Experience of directing and supervising worksites and the safe and efficient delivery of work Knowledge and experience of conductor rail equipment inspection, maintenance, renewal and asset condition assessment techniques Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and instructions Awareness of cost and waste control techniques Ideally hold (or be working towards) an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need Hold a current PTS COSS Signalling background – AITL assessor Technician in past The role: Supervise and check the quality of work delivered and confirm assets are compliant to standards Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements and other instructions Undertake specific inspections in accordance with standards as directed. Prepare work and resource specifications and method statements including Safe System of Work Plans Assist in the development of work plans that enables work to be delivered safely, efficiently and compliant to standards Assist in the identification and proposal of asset renewals Assist in the allocation of resources.
