Our company has a keen focus on our culture and we go to great lengths to ensure that we all enjoy what we do POSITION SCOPE Working directly with the VP Market Analysis as part of ASR’s analytical team within the global commodity group. Assessing, reconciling and generating data on sugar trade flows. Analysis and processing of data from third party service providers and reconciliation with public data sources. Active monitoring of vessels movements using BMAP/Reuters and proprietary freight market insights originated by the wider Global Sugars Group team. POSITION STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND KEY DELIVERABLES Enhance the pace and volume of primary data capture within the analytical team. Support ASR Market Analysts in all areas. DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Duties include, but are not limited to the following: The capture, origination, management and manipulation of relevant data in excel. Very strong excel skills are required as well as a rigorous analytical approach, a commitment to data integrity and a flexibility of approach. Developing and leveraging group knowledge as part of a global analytical team. Comply with the Trading Risk Policy. ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Attention to detail and time management. Ability to work constructively with in-house stakeholders. Team player with the ability to work under pressure. Strong excel skills. Strong interest in data/data science. Strong statistical background. ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES Positive attitude and a genuine interest in generating first hand market intelligence. Team player. Knowledge of computer programming (e.g. Python, SQL, Matlab, Power BI, etc.) would be helpful as the role requires extensive data management. Familiarity with either Bloomberg or Reuters is preferable. ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Degree level essential preferably with A-levels in Maths, Science or Economics.
