School Safeguarding Administrator A trusted and reputable school in South East London are seeking a Safeguarding Administrator. Do you have experience of working with young people and their families in a professional setting? Have you worked in a school setting before? As an educational institution, they believe that every student has a right to succeed academically, socially, morally and emotionally. The Inclusion team has been restructured this academic year to ensure that the individual needs of students will be met. Students’ safety is of primary importance. Purpose of the role: -Demonstrating the ethos and values of the school through everyday practice -Ensuring all the administrative aspects of safeguarding are well managed, to establish/follow best practice procedures and promote positive attitudes towards safeguarding within the school. Responsibilities: • Support the administration of all meetings including the organisation of meetings and the necessary paperwork. • Minute meetings as required and cascade the information to appropriate professionals. • Support the liaison with parents and external agencies; including Social Workers, Educational Psychologist, Attendance & Welfare officer and others as required. • To update children’s Medical or Special Educational Needs. • To maintain record systems for children, both in paper and where appropriate, electronic form relating to safeguarding matters • To complete and undertake the administration of referral forms. The right person will demonstrate a flexible approach in the delivery of work. Consequently, the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically identified in the job profile but which is in line with the general level of scope, grade and responsibilities of the post. Skills: • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to present confidently to a diverse range of people • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion • Genuine passion and belief in the potential of every pupil • Helpful, positive, calm and caring nature • Stay calm in difficult situations and maintain clarity of vision. • Be motivated to continually improve standards and achieve excellence • IT literate – Must have SIMS and MS office experience • Adapting and responding to change • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students • Willingness to undertake training Further Information: -Hours: 35 hours each week 08:30-16:30 Salary: Scale 5 (Full time) Contract: Sessional (hours may vary slightly at the start of each term) Reporting to: Director of Learning Start date: ASAP If you meet the above criteria, apply now.
