Assembly / Production Operative

Cordant People are currently recruiting for an assembly operative / hearing aid technician for our client based in Hazel Grove. We are looking at a one year fixed contract, to cover maternity leave. The Position: This position is responsible for the assembly of hearing aids. Job Functions are as follows: Surface, Plan, Case, Cut, Cut/Bevel/Buff and Finaling. The Surface/Planner is responsible for surfacing the shell to the appropriate height according to the matrix size, and layout of the hearing aid, and ensuring the additional options ordered will fit within the plan line. The Caser is responsible for verifying the sound quality and cosmetic quality of the hearing aid has been achieved. The Cutter-Buffer is responsible for cutting, trimming, beveling, and buffing of the hearing aid. The Finaler is responsible for the final appearance of the hearing aid, ensuring all options are added according to the design. Daily Duties: Duties for this position may include all or any of the following: Prepare the shell and plate for wiring while ensuring that all options will be placed correctly in the hearing aid. Plan where options will fit on the faceplate, and where vent should be placed. Drill vent and sound holes. Inspect box for correct label and parts Check sound quality of hearing aids Listen to the hearing aids for sound quality and make adjustments to alleviate oscillation or feedback. Check for any cosmetic defects, repair as necessary Cut, Trim, Bevel and Buff. Cut off excess plastic, bevel, and buff aid to desired look. Final the Hearing Aid Verify the functionality and quality of the hearing aid, Add all Final options. Back-up on other team positions as needed. Flex into other positions when needed. Support Custom Quality, Mf. Suite, Mainframe and other software applications. Utilize Custom Quality, Mfg. Suite, Mainframe and other software applications when needed. Other Details: The rate of pay is £8.21 per hour, and 40 hours per week. The rate will increase by 90p once new skills have been learnt. Two shifts available, 6am-2pm OR 8am-5pm.
