Overview

Our Client is a speciality supplier of raw materials and chemicals to the UK Manufacturing Industry. They are now seeking a Site Manager. This position will be based in Scunthorpe and is a full-time permanent role. Job Purpose To lead and manage the Scunthorpe site ensuring all activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner while meeting Customer Service and budget targets Management of chemical storage/operations on site including bulk storage, packed product storage, filling, and blending Legal and regulatory compliance responsibility regarding H & S, laboratory and operational activities Key Responsibilities Responsible for Safety Management System and approval of all site documents including procedures and inspections Ensure that Operations delivers on its Customer Service Excellence targets, working closely with the General Manager and other colleagues Manage the contact / interface with all appropriate regulatory / professional bodies such as the HSE, EA and KIWA A leader on site process safety such as zoning / flammability and DSEAR etc. Maintain Asset Management system for tank and FOR Process Safety Critical Equipment Senior role in all aspects of incident control Report to senior management on Near Misses, Misloads, PSPI performance for site Manage site training requirements Create, agree & achieve annual cost budgets for Site operations Act as Permit to Work, SAP and Legionella Responsible person Act as site Health and Safety lead coordinator Identify site improvements - operational compliance / efficiency - and ensure these are communicated in a timely manner and included in the annual Capex plan Input and implementation responsibility on capex projects in a timely, efficient manner including MoC requirements Contribution to and understanding of Life Science facility requirements and annual audits Help identify, manage & drive operational improvement projects to meet future / projected business needs Liaise with customer base on operational and technical requirements, including safe compliance and tank / site inspections Ensure out of hours emergency calls are dealt with effectively Qualifications and Experience National Level 3 qualifications in related technical fields e.g. Chemistry or Maths & Science desirable (A Level or equivalent) IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications desirable HACCP qualification to level 3 desirable Experience of Operations management in the chemicals or associated industry Knowledge and experience of storage, and of distribution logistics Knowledge of inorganic chemistry and associated processes desirable Knowledge / experience of HAZOP activities desirable Knowledge of EEMUA 159 & API 653 Logical & Analytical Thinker Effective Decision Maker and Problem Solver Good team-working skills Good Communication Skills - written & oral Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines High level of commitment to role including out of hours support / call-in Organised and structured approach In return our client is offering a competitive salary for the successful Candidate plus generous bonus scheme and benefits.
