Overview
Platform Resourcing Limited are working in partnership with a Childrens Residential Care Home business based in the South Wales area. Our client is looking to employ a Deputy Manager to join one of there residential teams based at a Home based in the Abergavenny area. . These are full-time permanent vacancy and in return you will be offered an excellent salary and the chance to work within a progressive and successful business who put thier service users at the heart of eveything that they do. This role requires a candidate with relevent experience of residential support work and they must hold a minimum of the NVQ Level 3 or QCF Level 3 with Children and young people. For those candidates without either of these qualifications, unfortunatley you will not be considered. As well as a Deputy Manager this client is also looking to recruit a Resdiential Manager and Residential Support Workers, again who hold the relevent qualifications. Duties and Responsibilties Lead the team of staff responsible to post holder particularly when leading a shift Communicate tasks, responsibilities and expected levels of performance Conduct supervision as directed Identify training and development needs Ensure all new staff are properly inducted Maintain positive working environment Assist in staff recruitment and retention Promoting concept and ethos of liP Assist Registered Manager in the production and monitoring of reports and documents as directed Monitor all incident reports Monitor all significant incidents Monitor staff monthly hours sheets Complete home log Produce effective reports as directed Ensure all messages are passed on effectively Ensuring home care staff have adequate resources to fulfil their Health and Safety needs Advising home care staff on Health and Safety issues Monitoring of incidents, near misses and general safety record within area of responsibility Developing plans for improvement within area of responsibility communication of staff Report incidents, near misses etc as required by company procedures Write risk assessments as directed Suggest plans for improvement Compliance with all appropriate child protection requirements Supervising home staff to fulfil all legislative requirements Applying all Reg. 32 requirements Liaison with all relevant legislative bodies when necessary Adhering to Company standards Experience and Qualifications Must have the qualification - NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People or the QCF Level 3 - Children and Young People Excellent interpersonal skills Working to support children and young people with multitude or challenging behaviour and complex needs At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare - one of which should be at senior level, all within the previous 5 years Must hold U.K Driving Licence Knowledge of Best Working Practices Attendance of IOSH Course Microsoft Office Packages, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation and its application to the home’s operations Benefits: Competitive salary Work within a warm and therapeutic setting Receive informative and regular training Rewarding pension scheme Rewarding career with progression opportunities / Succession planning If you think this role is right for you, please apply immediately by sending your CV online, or call our office on 01633 415305 if you have any questions.
