System & Product Development Engineer (Contract- Inside IR35) - £27ph - 12 Months My client are a leading household product manufacturer who are looking for an experienced development engineer to join their expanding department to meet the increased requirment for new and existing product development. Ideally with a recognised electronics or mechanical background and with experience in mechatronic household product development. Purpose To implement equipment development technology projects for machine / system upgrades or new platforms. Key Responsibilities Lead a small team of engineers, technicians and subject matter experts to design, verify and implement, sub-systems or machine upgrades. Responsible for the implementation of technology and engineering projects comprising mechanics, software, and electronics systems that are ready for integration into new and/or existing platforms and new products. Plan and track technical projects to ensure in-scope, on-time, and on-cost development and delivery. Track project cost Produce protypes and concept designs Create requirement specifications Collaborate with technical teams to deliver Design Requirement Specifications for equipment products, platforms, and systems. Ensure that knowledge of products, their design intent and project output documentation, including any due diligence, manuals and product specifications, are effectively captured and recorded. Practice work within our health, safety, and environment policies. Knowledge/Experience Solid understanding of product development and engineering principles. Practical knowledge of manufacturing, quality and product supply chains. An understanding of product assurance and regulatory requirements for electromechanical products. Demonstrated record of successfully implementing technical projects in-scope, on-time, and on-cost, through a stage gate process. Experience on building collaborative relationships and leverage of internal and external customers, partners, and suppliers. Solid understanding of systems (electrical/electronic, software and mechanical) and related design and testing engineering practices. Skills and experience creating detailed project plans and project documentation. Ability to design and fabricate (or supervise the fabrication) of systems and products concept prototypes. Competent in the use of MS Office, CAD and PDM Systems.
