The Priory Hospital Chelmsford is a 60 bed private acute psychiatric hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of mental health problems for both adults and adolescents. The hospital incorporates a Grade II listed building that has been extensively restored and situated in 3.5 acres of landscaped grounds. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic and enthusiastic therapy team. We are looking for someone with experience to work 3 days per week on our Acute Adult Mental Health Unit. This would involve working with individuals and groups with a range of complex presentations in an inpatient setting. Applicants will be required to: - Provide consultation and assistance to the Therapy Services Manager regarding the activity programme on the unit - Engage the patients on the unit in helpful, therapeutic and meaningful activity. - Manage and co-ordinate individual treatment plans for occupational therapy and activities - Provide 1:1 OT assessment and treatment - Ensure effective and efficient management of more junior staff. - Develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and quality standards specifically regarding risk assessment. - Demonstrate a robust ability to work in a high intensity/risk environment - Provide excellent oral and written communication and possess exceptional organisational skills BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together with full BAOT membership and HCPC registration is required. Experience in working in a Mental Health setting would be an advantage If you are enthusiastic, authentic and motivated then this could be the exciting and challenging role for you. The successful canditate will be required to be flexible in their working hours with some weekend and evening hours as part of their rota.
