Project Engineer

Project Engineer - Workington, Cumbria Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 pa bens MacArthur Recruitment is looking for an experienced Project Engineer , from an engineering background, to work for a UK organisation in Cumbria, who are involved with hands-on engineering-focussed industries across nuclear, construction, defence, etc. They require a Project Engineer who has the ability to lead a multi-discipline team of engineers, in a workshop environment, executing multiple projects to budget and on time and who will be the main technical lead on projects; able to deputise for the Project Manager if required. Responsibilities for the role of Project Engineer: • assess project requirements from a technical perspective • write reports and documentation and provide technical advice • plan, monitor, forecast and control various aspects of a project • deliver work in accordance with business management and quality systems • oversee manufacture of complex components and assemblies, including any testing and commissioning activities • produce the bill of materials, identifying all technical and quality requirements to allow for procurement • ensure projects are value-engineered and delivered safely in accordance with current legislation and that customer requirements are satisfied • liaise with prospective suppliers and manufacturers, and carry out inspections as appropriate • setup, control and be responsible for the safe setup of plant and equipment, internally and at the customers’ site • work individually and as part of the team. Qualifications and skills for the role of Project Engineer: • Engineering Degree or Equivalent Practice • Experience of managing a multi-discipline team of engineers executing multiple projects to budget and schedule. • Experience in understanding and applying client specifications and quality requirements. • Ability to plan and prepare work to prevent poor performance and to foresee where potential problems may occur.
