Financial Reporting Manager - Qualified Accountant

Ignata Finance have been instructed to assist a company based in the Burgess Hill area to recruit a Financial Reporting Manager. You will be a qualified accountant with experience of supervising a small team. You will support the Head of Finance with all aspects of technical accounting as well as support him to manage the department. You will be used to working within a small team environment and willing to take on new tasks as your roles progresses. This role would suit a qualified accountant from a strong financial accounting background currently within industry or practice trained seeking to make their first move into industry. Due to the nature of the role you will ideally match the following: ACCA or ACA qualified (practice trained/industry) Experience of producing statutory accounts Experience of group reporting (or very strong financial reporting skills) Able to work through complex reconciliations Experience of managing a team (or assisting/mentoring) Strong understanding of transactional finance Key responsibilities: Manage a team of 5 (transactional accounting staff) Full ownership of the balance sheet reconciliations Support the Head of Finance with the preparation of the statutory accounts VAT calculations Ownership of the fixed asset register/monthly depreciation reporting Responsible for preparing the financial reports and reporting to stakeholders Take responsibility for expenses analysis and investigating any discrepancies raised by expenses assistants Manage month end reconciliations and associated inter-company transactions Overview bank reconciliations and payments Ownership of accruals, prepayments and journal entry Play a lead role assisting external auditors with information needed during year end Own and delegate month end tasks to team Maintain and improve existing internal controls Ah hoc duties/project work as required Cover various finance tasks in times of absence etc
