Overview

We are looking for an experienced Early Years Teacher to join Harris Nursery Hub Peckham. We are interested to hear from qualified EYFS teachers looking to join our new and exciting Nursery Hub. Harris Nursery Hub Peckham is an exciting new venture, in partnership with Urban Exposure Philanthropy. We are providing education and care for 2 to 4 year-old children within a beautifully converted building within the grounds at Harris Primary Academy Peckham Park. The newly designed provision is set across two floors and includes a dedicated sensory room, state of the art interactive floor, superb all-weather garden area and fully equipped nursery kitchen. At the Nursery Hub we create the best possible learning experience for children in a loving and friendly atmosphere as well as delivering outstanding and inspirational early years provision. We are looking for talented Early years Teacher who want to be part of this exciting new venture. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year. You will be expected to work 32.5 hours a week on a varied shift pattern as directed by the Senior Leadership Team. The Early years teacher role is with teachers pay and conditions including flexible holiday dates. In line with the Government’s announcement, our academy is closed until further notice. However, during this period it is our intention to continue with critical recruitment for key positions starting in September 2020. In place of academy interviews, alternative options will be offered so that no one is at a disadvantage, and applicants should expect telephone or virtual interviews, with the possibility of onsite academy interviews only in special cases. We want to reassure applicants that effective measures have been implemented to ensure their health and wellbeing whilst on academy premises. Thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time. Job Purpose To work to support the learning of children in the nursery, including individual, small and large groups as directed. To work under the direction of the Principal and the nursery managers to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups and the whole setting. To work under the direction of the nursery managers setting up, leading and developing learning opportunities in the indoor and outdoor environment. To play a full part in the early years team including monitoring and assessing children’s progress and reporting on their progress. To monitor, assess and support children that have additional needs as required. To assist nursery managers in directing nursery hub staff.
