About the Company: A market leading insurance company are looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious Development Underwriter to join a growing team and maintain and develop the Charity Care and Not for Profit line of business for their already significant market presence. A talented individual is sought to contribute to the shape and future of an established team, by bringing new ideas to the table, driving growth through broker development and delivering both service and underwriting excellence within the Charity, Care and Not for Profit sector. About the Role: As a Senior Underwriter your responsibilities will include: Visiting and building relationships with keys brokers, addressing their needs and underwriting risks both onsite and away. Understanding the principles of trading and account growth as well as case specific underwriting. Deal with new business enquiries, renewal and mid-term adjustments by producing terms and converting/retaining acceptable business. Maintain personal knowledge of relevant technical issues. Underwriting of the largest and most complex commercial cases (with a significant underwriting authority) Active broker development, using your sales and negotiation skills to win business through existing broker relationships and forging new ones. Key Skills/Experience Required: A proven track record in Commercial Underwriting (Casualty / Property). Knowledge of the charity, care and not for profit sector is desirable. Professional Qualifications Required : Progression towards ACII would be advantage, but not essential.
