Overview

Our client are a global leader in measurement instrumentation, services and solutions for industrial process engineering. Role Responsibilities The role requires servicing, commissioning and fault diagnostics/repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation. Main responsibilities Requirement to travel throughout the UK, overseas and possibly offshore Periods of absence from home will be expected from time to time which will include overnight stays in hotels To commission, calibrate and repair on site instrumentation To work in all industries within the Company customer database To liaise with the Service Coordinators to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties In the event of non-completion of the job, contact the Service Coordinator to arrange or confirm the next site visit To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated To adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and the Company quality management system Maintain company equipment To man the 24-hour technical helpline according to the roster set by the Service Coordinators Provide services and support to other departments and customers as deemed appropriate by the Services Manager To assist the development and training of other engineers and workshop staff as required Timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with the Company service report forms Abide by the Company's policy document Qualification Profile Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level, preferably in Electronics or Instrumentation of control Recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines is ideal or a minimum of 2 years' Process Control experience Problem solving and diagnostic skills To be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team A flexible approach to working activities Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Assertiveness The ability to develop good working relationships with customers Good organisational skills Excellent punctuality and timekeeping A clean driving licence Benefits Perks Starting salary of £30-33k Company vehicle The security of working for an international family-owned company Performance-based remuneration Wide range of training opportunities Cordant Group is an equal opportunities employer
