Overview
The Role The Internal Audit team is responsible for providing assurance across the Group that risk mitigation is consistently strong and effective. The team work to meet challenging, risk-based Internal Audit plan efficiently and effectively. The role also offers an opportunity to understand how components of the business contribute to overall objectives. Additionally, the internal audit plan the team is seen as a trusted advisor for risk. Responsibilities Undertaking audits across finance, ecommerce, logistics / warehousing, retail operations, health and safety, trading and IT. Working to complete the Internal Audit plan to fit a schedule. Conducting and developing audits in new and dynamic areas, proactively identifying new areas of internal and external risk. Development of individual audit programmes. Working with audit stakeholders to communicate audit findings, developing relevant recommendations and monitoring progress. Presenting audit findings in written reports. Continuous improvement of Internal Audit processes. Peer review of working papers / verification of findings and conclusions made. On-going ad hoc support and advice provided to the business regarding risk exposure and risk mitigation. Identifying security and fraud risks, and assisting with fraud investigations. Involvement in validation of whistleblowing activity and assisting investigations. The Successful Candidate Strong verbal and written communication. Smart thinking and driven approach to work in order to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency. Collaborative approach to risk management when working with key audit stakeholders. Ability to identify key testing evidence sources, undertake appropriate reviews of available evidence and produce relevant findings and conclusions. Ability to promote engagement in Internal Audit activity. Completed or on-going professional qualification (e.g. PIIA or CIA) or willingness to undertake CIA with support as part of the role. Full UK driving licence Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
