JustPhysio are looking for an MSK Physiotherapist to work with their client based in West London Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist Salary £35k Start ASAP Our client in London are looking for an MSK Physiotherapist to join their team Full Time post: 40 hours 38 Clinical hours, 2 admin hours, plus unpaid breaks, 5 days a week. Shifts. Some unsociable hours and weekend working required. Skills & behaviour required for the role: To act as an autonomous clinician delivering Physiotherapy / Osteopathy to patients by taking personal responsibility for planning and prioritising own patient caseload including appropriate referral to other members of the Multi-disciplinary team. This role also requires the clinician to build own case load through appropriate relationship development with referrers including GPs and Orthopods. •To undertake highly specialised, comprehensive neuro-musculoskeletal assessment, interpreting and analysing clinical and non clinical information to form accurate diagnosis and prognoses; reflecting the philosophy of Pure Sports Medicine. •To utilise expert clinical reasoning and evidence based knowledge when formulating a management plan for each and every patient •Formulate a management plan for every patient that considers referral to the MDT - Sports Physician, Massage, Podiatry, Strength and Conditioning. This may be an onward transfer of care or inclusive of physiotherapy management. •To be skilled in explaining to patient when treatment or a specific treatment modality is not indicated. •To communicate effectively (verbally or non verbally) with patients, where there will often be barriers to effective communication e.g. language problems, cultural differences, loss of hearing, pain and fear, so that consent to treatment and effective intervention is gained. •To deal effectively and appropriately with patients and/or carers, who may be aggressive verbally and physically, and know how and when to call for help from others as appropriate. •To use counseling skills gained by training and/ or experience to give information and advice to patients, relatives and carers extremely sensitive issues such as a poor prognosis and lifelong disability. •To be able to discuss with patients, relatives and carers extremely sensitive issues such as the consequence of non-intervention and or treatment. •To be able to motivate and persuade patients with a wide range of complex conditions/ disabilities in a way that empowers them to make informed choices about the management of their condition and engages them in the planning of and delivery of their treatment. •To ensure there is comprehensive, well designed written information available for patients and members of the multi-disciplinary team, about their condition and/or post-operative treatment. •To provide specialist physiotherapy / osteopathy advice, which may involve discussing or requesting changes to treatment programmes/care plans/diagnoses from other health care professionals as necessary. •Analyse and understand the impact on patient care of various treatment plans/diagnoses from other clinicians, e.g. drug regimes from Rheumatology, Pain Specialists etc… •Contribute to and participate in ongoing development/in-service training with Pure Sports Medicine. •Participate in regular patient case reviews with other members of Pure Sports Medicine's clinical team to facilitate continued professional development and enhance patient care. •To identify and access appropriate sources of clinical support, establishing and maintaining networks across professional and organizational boundaries in order to enhance own service development. •To communicate effectively (verbally or non verbally) with all relevant medical professionals and others involved in a patient's case to provide optimal patient care and promote multidisciplinary team working. •Develop a unified approach within the PSM team with regard to patient assessment and management to ensure that any given patient will receive the a detailed management plan, reflecting the philosophy of the organisation. •To work with the other clinicians and the Clinical and Medical Directors to develop the Rehabilitation Service; supported by best practice, statistical evidence and audit results. •To collaborate with the clinical team at PSM to ensure that patient management is quality driven; and that standards are set to reflect local and national standards. •To keep abreast of national agendas and published frameworks or guidelines (e/g. NICE, NSF, CSAG), standards, protocols and policies, both clinical and professional. To use this knowledge to contribute to the development of the Musculoskeletal service, so that the services comply with and take account of these agendas, policies and guidelines.
