Eventus Recruitment Group are looking for a Credit Control assistant at a leading regional legal practice in Tunbridge Wells. The firm provides first rate services across a full range of legal practice areas to both local and national clients, and is recognised as one of the premier regional law firms. The role is Tunbridge Wells based. This is a part time, permanent position. Job title: Credit Control Assistant (part-time) Department: Finance Reports to: Credit Controller Main function of job: Provide assistance to the Credit Controller in providing an effective and efficient credit control service to fee earners, thereby ensuring that the firm’s invoices are paid as promptly as possible. This principally involves running a comprehensive client reminder letter system, following up queries with fee earners, contacting clients where appropriate, and providing reports to fee earners, Heads Of Department and the firm’s senior management. Main Duties The main duties of the role comprise: Using the Practice Management System to generate standard reminder letters and mailing them to clients Producing and mailing client statements on request Dealing with client and internal queries Following up unpaid invoices with clients as appropriate Investigating missing payments Liaising with legal departments to monitor the status of unpaid invoices which are not subject to the standard reminder letter process Preparing files for legal action where applicable Other tasks as required by the Credit Controller or Finance Director Specialist Skills Required Essential: Minimum of 2 years working in a credit control function Experience of using business computer systems Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Desirable: Experience of working in a law firm or other professional services business Experience of working with the Elite 3E Practice Management System Personal Skills Required Methodical and well-organised approach to tasks Quick to learn new tasks and systems Able and willing to work on own initiative or as part of a small team Ability to work fast and accurately Tact, firmness, good telephone manner Able to communicate effectively with external clients and all levels of internal staff Flexible outlook, willing to perform any tasks allocated Interviews being conducted week commencing 16th March so don’t delay in applying if interested.
