Make a difference every day – Become a Care Assistant Athena Care are on the hunt for warm and kind people like you to join our amazing team of Care Assistants supporting a young woman in her 30's with multiple sclerosis. The client lives at home with her husband and family (LE67 – Coalville) We are looking for workers to commit to working the shifts of: Morning Shift 9am – 4:30pm Afternoon Shift 3pm- 11pm Night Shift 10:30pm – 9:30am (Days to be confirmed) with alternate weekends. Times are essential and non-negotiable as the client has time critical medication and a moving and handling regime. There may be the odd time where you will have to start earlier or may finish up to half an hour later due to the care needs of the client. The successful applicant must commit to working those hours on an ongoing rota. Job role and duties will include: • Double up with colleague for personal care and transfer • Manual handling • PEG Feed (Further training provided) • Medication via PEG (Further training provided) • Personal care including catheter care and suctioning (Further training provided) • Communication and Record keeping • Domestic duties Full training & support is provided. Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential. Full training for PEG and any other designated task will be provided before you support this client. Shadowing the current staff team is also a mandatory task before your first shift. The successful candidates will be required to travel to Leicester for training. Athena Care will make a contribution to those who travel for interview and training and where necessary a hotel room. Telephone interviews will be arranged.
