Materials Laboratory Technician (Night Shift) Permanent - Full Time Coventry Based £36,500 per annum About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join an Aeropsace Organisation. Our client design and manufacture state of the art Wheels, Brakes and Brake Control Systems for the most advanced civil and military aircraft with 77,000 aircraft fitted with their brakes worldwide. Using your experience within a materials laboratory environment, you will work within a small team of Laboratory Technicians/Engineers that check the quality and approve materials. This will be at various stages of the manufacturing process from incoming raw materials, in process and finished brake materials and release for aircraft use. You will ensure that material is produced effectively and meets specifications, prepare and issue furnace run instructions and load plans, ensure all carbon processes conform to run instructions and examine, assess and approve outside manufactured parts. You will ensure safe working conditions, maintain the record system detailing results of control tests and production conditions, maintain good relationships in contacts with colleagues, production supervision and other departments; and occasional contacts with suppliers or test facilities. You will need to have experience of working within a laboratory environment, testing materials for production use and hold a Science or Engineering qualification to minimum of A Levels/City & Guilds. We would also like you have: Knowledge of friction material manufacturing processes is desirable. Good organisational, analytical, oral and written communication skills. Good general health as physical effort is required handling brake discs and jigs. What else do I need to know? Based in Coventry.
