Garment Tech Assistant
Overview
This role supports the Technical team in the smooth and commercial delivery of the Crew product range to drive profitable sales growth. This role supports the management of the technical process to ensure that the collections, are developed and created to the standards of Crew clothing in terms of fit, performance and construction to business timeline, with the brand essence of the Crew Clothing, and in line with department and business expectations. Responsibilities: Accountable for: Assisting the Technical Manager and team in the fit process from concept to Crew blue seal. Assisting the technical team in managing the on time delivery of all departments and ensuring at least 98 % on time delivery. Assisting in the general admin of the technical team in terms of filing, sample storage and fit sessions. Business Goals Supports the technical team in the smooth and commercial delivery of the Crew product range to drive profitable sales growth. Supports supplier relationships in terms of technical support and team expectations Supports communication with key stakeholders for any product or process improvements, within the timeline and signed off by the Technical Manager Support the technical team in pack set up where basic blocks are needed Type comment’s in fit sessions for review by relevant Women’s and Menswear technologist. Collate and send samples to DC as directed and when required Support Technical Manager on daily ad hoc duties Helps to organise supplier and team meetings. Technical: Assist with QC inspections as directed and when required Maintain filing system and general administration Participate in team and department meetings. Carry out competitor shopping reports and presenting findings when requested by the Technical Manager Acts as an ambassador for Crew Technical Team Supplier Development: Assist with QC inspections as directed and when required Maintain filing system Helps communicate fit / assessment comments to the suppliers, and builds on basic knowledge and working relationship with them Ensures the suppliers understand Crew Technical Standards and Procedures Key Performance Indicators: Excellent support for Technical Manager and technologists Excellent organisation skills with up to date filing management Understanding and adherence to business and dept. CP. Interaction within department, wider Product teams and awareness of business direction. Collaborative, clear and consistent communication within team. Strong on brand and commercial understanding of product. Key Skills and Experience: Essential – Minimum 1 to 1/2 years experience in same or similar role. Excellent communication and organisational skills Excellent computer literacy in Excel /Outlook/Word Ability to prioritise and manage a work schedule whilst working to tight deadlines Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with supplier and other department members Ability to work as part of a team, but motivated and able to work independently. Understanding of the product function and critical path processes. Able to work with pace and energy. Ability to communicate clearly any quality related issues to the Product Development team, Head of Product and Head of Merchandising. Desirable – Desire to learn understanding of garment construction, the fitting process and production processes. Passion for product and keen to learn. Positive and solutions orientated.
