Title: Medical Affairs Director Territory: Covering UK & Ireland based from head office in either Buckinghamshire or Scotland Therapy Area: All established brands & new products Salary: Highly competitive salary exceptional benefits on offer Evolve Consultant: Andy Boyd or Claire Handley Ref: 7462 A new vacancy has become available with a market-leading Pharmaceutical organisation. This role will be responsible for all medical activities in the UK and Ireland related to all existing and new product portfolios. Essential Requirements You will be a qualified and GMC registered Medic. Extensive experience in leading a Medical Affairs department within the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries. Previous experience as a Final Medial Signatory in the UK is essential. Medical Affairs experience at an international / European level is ideal. A sound understanding of the UK medical marketing environment. Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements as applied to product promotion, safety surveillance and product development. Proven ability to collaborating with commercial functions Willingness and flexibility to travel as required Role Responsibilities Lead and manage the Medical Affairs function for the UK and Ireland Work in cooperation with Clinical, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, International Medical Affairs and International Marketing to develop strategic plans for the business Act as point of reference on medical issues for products for the UK and Ireland Provide medical, scientific and technical approval of promotional material and activities in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and codes of practice Contribute to life cycle management for the existing product portfolio, and support the commercial development of the product pipeline in the UK and Ireland Work with commercial colleagues to establish or enhance partnerships with key academic institutions and develop professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders Provide support and advice to sales teams in the UK and Ireland Work with the marketing team to provide medical advice in the development of new marketing campaigns Provide medical expertise for, and participate in, Advisory Boards involving external healthcare professionals Some travel may be required Role Specific Competencies Highly analytical, strong data manipulation and ability to identify trends/patterns. Extensive stakeholder mapping and influencing ability. Clinical, scientific and technical expertise. Strong negotiation skills. Self-motivation with a high degree of initiative.
