Overview
Job Title: Young People's Development Manager Based : Olton, Solihull, B27 6PF Salary: £25,840 to £28,000 per annum Job Type: Full time, Permanent Job Role: This is a new role and you would be joining the trust at an exciting and critical time. They are looking for a Young Person's Development Manager to join them and play an important role in relaunching their young people's services. They were founded in the 1850's by a benevolent industrialist who wanted to use his wealth to both alleviate and also prevent poverty. His first venture was the provision of a co-housing project for older single women and homeless orphan girls. This really opened his eyes to the needs of 'orphans' and within 10 years, he went on to found Birmingham's largest orphanage, with a community school. The orphanage and school closed in the 1960's and the charity has not directly delivered services to young people since this time. Their mission is to use their founder's vision and apply it to meaningful services for the most disadvantaged young people across the region. You will become part of an organisation that's embracing its past but looking towards the future with great passion and excitement. About you: They are looking for someone with huge enthusiasm for what they do and who can engage in their mission and purpose. Their ideal candidate will not only be passionate about understanding the experiences of young people, young people in the care system and those leaving care, but also skilled in generating and identifying opportunities; designing, managing and developing services as well as identifying and securing funding. As you would expect, good communication skills are essential as you will need to be able to develop relationships with clients and explain research findings in a clear, concise and engaging way.
