Overview

The Pension Transfer Analysis Team provides an invaluable service to HL's Advisory Division by interpreting and analysing potentially complex Pensions and Life & Investment arrangements and presenting reports in a client-friendly format for HL Financial Advisers to use in their client discussions and recommendation reports. We have an exciting opening for an experienced Defined Benefit Pension Transfer Analyst (DB PTA) to take on a Senior role in providing sign-off support to the PTAT Manager in addition to completing their own Transfer Analysis in order to deliver outstanding service to HL Advisers and the end Client and cultivate HL values within the team. Role Accountabilities Personally complete APTA reports and sign-off reports for colleagues. Analysing & interpreting the defined pension benefits given up on transfer Production of prescribed reports in response to transfer requests Gathering of all relevant information in a timely and accurate manner so that advice can be delivered within the limited CETV guaranteed period Dealing with Adviser and third party scheme administrator communications Effective management of Letters of Authority Helping to maintain the Team's workflow Maintenance of workflow records in respect of those clients worked onLooking for and implementing ways to improve processes in a compliant manner. Accountability in dealing with DB pension transfers is a risk management responsibility ensuring sufficient information is obtained and processed to value benefits given up by transfer with intelligent oversight into how Financial Advisers formulate their advice. Be a focal point for HL Financial Advisers for the Appropriate Pension Transfer Analysis (APTA) process. Be a referral point for analysts for pension technical knowledge and case management. Identify impact of legislation and market practice on pension transfer activity & advice. With the PTAT Manager regularly review the key processes for pension transfers, including design of client reports, appendices & policy summaries, and recommending and implementing change where appropriate Experience / Skills Qualification to Financial Planning Diploma level in conjunction with the CII Pension Transfer Certificate (G60/AF3/AF7 equivalent). Specialist DB high level pensions knowledge including the industry APTA process Comprehensive technical understanding of a wide range of DB schemes and DC schemes with DB underpins Recent experience of completing DB pension transfer analysis producing TVC reports Practical experience in dealing directly with third parties Good understanding of Excel spreadsheets Understanding of the analysis output and ability to summarise in plain language Strong organisational and administrative ability Excellent written communication, both in the context of formal APTA outputs and keeping people informed. Ability to accurately assess and interpret pension transfer details and associated legislation at client level Clear understanding of client confidentiality & risk management issues Hardworking and willing to 'muck in' Diplomatic and professional Reliable and consistent
