Overview

Part of a major international group, this organisation is setting up a new manufacturing facility to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As an NPI Project Engineer your role will be responsible for the introduction on new production tooling and capital projects NPI Project Engineer 12 month fixed term contract £39000 (12 month fixed term contract) or £25-28 per hour (Ltd Co) Location: Telford, Shropshire Main duties and responsibilities: The Project Engineer w be responsible for managing tooling/ machine suppliers to ensure the programme keeps on time and within budget. In addition management of Engineering Change within the process as required and report daily of project status, ensuring any obstacles are highlighted and addressed. o Vendor/ Supplier Management of production tooling/ dies and associated capital plant and machinery. o Supplier Engineering Change Management o Support Production Launch and pre trials activity o Escalate roadblocks to achieving targets o Project Planning and gateway project management, active problem solving relating to the program o Prepare and maintain project timing plans, gateways and track performance to delivery o Monitor adherence to customer contract requirements o Lead APQP meetings, driving accountability and support PPAP activity o The role may require travel within Europe ( once travel restrictions lapse) Knowledge and Education: You will already have a proven track record working as a Project Engineer, NPI Engineer, Project Manager or Launch Engineer delivering new products into production within a high volume manufacturing facility. o HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject o Able to co-ordinate projects involving various departments, multiple items of equipment, integration with existing equipment; involvement with other projects and timelines. o Critical Path Analysis o Previous Project planning of complex production/ tooling projects o Excellent Reporting Skills and Communication Skills o APQP/PPAP/ PFMEA/ SPC/ MSA o Excellent Microsoft skills (Excel/MS Project) o Evidence of an innovative approach to technical problem solving and process development using Root Cause Analysis, Statistical problem solving and DOE o Knowledge of complex CNC machining, casting, plastic moulding, assembly or presswork production processes and related capital machinery & tooling The opportunity: Our client is seeking a number of Project Engineers on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.
