Overview

Trustees (Human Resources & Children & Young People Experience) For over 50 years, RESPONSE has been pioneering services that enable people with mental health problems and complex needs to live their lives to the full. Driven by our values and an incredible staff team, we’ve grown significantly in the last five years and now support in excess of 400 people across the Thames Valley on their journey to recovery and wellbeing. With a substantial housing portfolio, nearly 200 staff, robust NHS contracts and turnover nearing £10m we’re now well-placed to deliver future growth and even more vital life-changing services. We have an exceptional reputation, a thriving organisation, powerful partnerships and the ambition to do more. It’s now, at this incredibly exciting point in the life of RESPONSE, that we are seeking new Trustees, with experience in Children and Young People Mental Health Services and Human Resources, to help shape, drive and oversee the next phase of growth and innovation. Response aims to diversify their portfolio and open brand new services in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire alongside still developing new services in Oxfordshire either alone or in partnership with other organisations. In the next four years the Board will be involved in decisions about the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership, and the direction of its future developments in services local to Oxfordshire and across the Thames Valley; which is vital work when the need for good mental health services is increasingly evident. With a passion for mental health services and enhancing the lives of vulnerable people, Trustees will work closely with our CEO and Board to maximise and broaden the impact on lives that RESPONSE can create. The Trustees will contribute to, and ensure the effective delivery of the emerging strategy, in a way that compliments the different elements of the organisation. Strong understanding of compliance, risk management and control of processes are essential, as well as demonstrating a genuine interest and commitment to the organisation's Mission, Values and Strategic Goals. As a large charity with energy and ambition, we need Trustees who are able to invest a suitable amount of time, on a flexible basis, each month. As a guide to the kind of time commitment required, the Trustees could be investing around 6 hours a month to RESPONSE (in addition to the formal board meetings, which take place bi-monthly). Now, more than ever, our society needs to be providing for those who face mental health problems and associated disadvantages. At RESPONSE, we are driven to be at the forefront of that provision, constantly improving, innovating and supporting as many people as possible. If you share our passion and beliefs, we’d love to hear from you. For further information and to find out how to apply please visit the RESPONSE website: www.response.org.uk.
