Engineering Manager The Role Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK and to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to work within the Engineering Department. The successful candidate will directly support the Senior Management – Engineering to successfully deliver the HPUK departmental high level objectives through effective management of projects, people and financial controls, with a result to achieve an efficient, safe and quality support service for our direct customer. Key Requirements Active part of the engineering leadership team provide expert knowledge to strategic planning and drive change, culture and performance throughout the engineering business area. Continually investigate improvement opportunities within engineering. Provide business cases for investment proposals. Maintain strong working relationships with our key stakeholders and work to operational targets and customer expectations. Line management for engineering staff, tradesmen, and contracted services within your responsible area. Ensure they are safely, effectively and efficiently deployed in all aspects of engineering reactive maintenance, repair, projects and asset management. Ensure the highest standards of equipment safety, availability and reliability are obtained in the most cost effective and reasonably practicable manner. Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, safe working practices and safe codes of practice with recommendations for action and a cycle of continuous improvement. Maintain a complete understanding of total equipment assets and their operational availability. Ensure relevant systems are both suitable and maintained in real time for HPUK, including the performance of staff and assets. Monitoring of in service plant, equipment and systems regarding engineering objectives Project manage new engineering processes, installations and infrastructure. Who are we looking for? Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria: Minimum 4 years’ experience in a technical discipline following academic trade training. Minimum HNC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering. Experience in line management roles and responsibilities. Minimum CMS in Business Administration is desirable. Up to date knowledge of health and safety requirements for site supervision, specialist access equipment and plant operation. IOSH Managing safely. Expert knowledge and experience of cranes and container handling equipment would be highly preferable Full UK Driving License.
