PCB Inspector - £20,000 to £24,000 (depedent on experience) My client is a leading manufacturer of high quality electronics, established 35 years ago, specialising in PCB assembly, Cable & Harness assembly, box builds services and AMOS Gas Detection systems, and has an exciting opportunity for a PCB Inspector. They are specifically looking for an inspector with SMT rework skills and ideally experience in running SMT and AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) MCs. Reporting directly to the SMT supervisor key activities will involve visual inspection of first-off batch, build PCB (Surface mount or Conventional Technologies) efficiently with the knowledge and understanding to continuously improve quality. Product ranges from military, medical and commercial sectors. Ideally the applicant should have minimum 3-5 year’s experience within PCB Manufacturing and Quality Control KEY RESPONSIBILITIES We are specifically looking for an inspector with potentially SMT rework skills and ideally experience in running SMT and AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) MCs. • To carry out the above inspection processes in accordance with the appropriate customer and company documentation. • To carry out patrol / Sample inspection of work in progress where necessary • Experience of using inspection equipment • Surface mount and conventional component knowledge, identification and recognition. • Preventative maintenance to surface mount equipment and machinery • Ideally trained within surface mount rework to include fine pitch components • Ideally experience with AOI – (Automatic Optical Inspection), Training will be provided. • Ideally trained to IPC610 – (Training will be given) • To maintain appropriate quality records using Excel • To report systematic quality problems to the SMT / Inspection Supervisor and assist in their resolution where appropriate. KEY SKILL SETS • PREVIOUS PCB INSPECTION EXPERIENCE • IPC KNOWLEDGE IS ADVANTAGEOUS • ABILITY TO WORK FROM DRAWINGS, WORK INSTRUCTIONS AND DIAGRAMS • COMPUTER LITERATE Summary The company will be operating a CSIP (Continuous sustainable improvement plan). Part of this program is to develop existing staff both internally and externally. We are looking for someone to help drive the quality department forward which will include developing lean practices.
