Rare Tax Assistant / Senior Job, Part-Time, Legal Sector, Edinburgh, £23,000 - £31,000 (FTE) Your new company A progressive and leading legal firm with offices spanning the breadth of Scotland are recruiting for a part-time Tax Assistant or Senior to join them in Edinburgh. Priding themselves on their ability to provide practical advice to clients to help them reach their professional and personal objectives, this is a welcoming, and customer and people focused firm. This job will ideally be 3 days (21 hours) however there is flexibility in order to accommodate the right applicant. Your new role As the Tax Assistant within a Tax Team of 8 individuals within the wider Private Client Department of approximately 40 professionals, you will be responsible for personal tax compliance and assisting Partners and other members with tax planning and advisory work. You will have regular contact with clients over the phone, via email and in person. Work will be in relation to self-assessment individuals, executries, trusts, partners and tax repayment claims. Over time, you will develop your technical knowledge further, with the opportunity to specialise should you wish. What you'll need to succeed You will have strong private client tax compliance experience, ideally for in excess of 2 years, obtained in the legal sector or in a professional services environment. Practical knowledge of CCH will enhance you application. You will have excellent communication skills and professionalism, with the ability to discuss complex tax issues in terms clients will understand.
