Homeless Recovery Night Worker- Night Beds x 2 Fixed Term Contract for 12 months £20,792 per annum Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role where you are able to support people every day and provide a safe environment for them to feel safe and comfortable? Do you enjoy working in an environment where every shift is different to the next? Then this could be the role for you. You will be working as part of the night team to provide support to our homeless clients. You will love helping others by being on hand when they need you. Your primary role will be to keep our service and the people that use it, safe. Your can-do attitude towards your work and others will contribute to a positive working environment. You will have a calm and personable manner and be resilient to potentially difficult situations. This in turn will promote mutual respect, dignity, stability, confidence and self -worth. Our night workers will usually work a 12 hour (waking) shift on a four night on, four night off rota. Although these are long shifts, you will get four days off after, which can provide a great work life balance. Day in the life of a Night worker : Be the first welcoming friendly face for people accessing the service Provide informal support to clients and be a listening ear Respond to telephone calls and visits by external staff where needed Be extremely conscientious in areas such as safeguarding and lone working and follow the relevant procedures Manage clients and their visitors within the building and any associated safety management Deal with any incidents that may arise and contact external services when necessary Provide detailed handovers to day staff, regarding client safety and support information Help to maintain a welcoming, safe environment, identifying and minimising all potential risks to users of the premises, organisation and property Carry out light cleaning tasks where required Manage any building issues/maintenance as per the relevant procedure Carry out Health & Safety checks of the building and external areas where required Triage out of hours issues which may arise in services covered within the Core Homeless Contract and contact the on-call manager where applicable Support your colleagues managing the Core Homeless service, where required About Us We are a homeless housing association, offering supported accommodation across the south of England for those who are homeless, vulnerable or in need of support. What You Will Need Previous experience in this sector is not essential but you will be able to demonstrate a real passion for wanting to work with vulnerable people in the homeless sector.
