Electronics Technician / Test Engineer (outside of IR35)

A fast-growing electronics business are looking for 2 Electronics Technician/ Test Engineer's (1 permanent, 1 contract) to help build, set up, maintain and repair their brand-new electronic systems, which have only just been developed. You will test systems, diagnose and fix faults and help with assembly, test and debug of prototype systems. This role requires hands-on experience using various techniques, including hand soldering of surface mount components, wiring of complete systems, system test and system build. To succeed in this position, you should also be able to comprehend and follow manuals, circuit diagrams and circuit board layouts. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up electronic systems and devices according to design guidelines Assemble and connect system components (e.g. cables) Build prototype models as specified by the design engineers Monitor and report on the progress of repairs Test system functionality and analyse data Repair faults in circuitry and other system structures Read and comprehend manuals and circuit diagrams Keep records of repairs using PC-based software Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on technical tasks Use various tools to build and repair systems SKILLS REQUIRED: Previous experience as an electronic technician or similar role Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry Experience of repairing or assembling PCBs Familiarity working with various tools and equipment Problem solving skills MS Office and diagnostic software Ability to work with others and unsupervised as required DESIRABLE SKILLS: .
