We are recruiting for a Purchasing Manager to join Dorsett Hotels. As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the purchasing process and activity covering all product categories in both Operating Supplies & Equipment, Fixtures & Furniture's, Food & Beverage and Service Contracts. You must have strong organisational and time management skills and have the ability to communicate at all levels. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication internally and externally. A strong leader who will enjoy mentoring and developing a member of the team. Main Job Duties & Responsibilities Analysis of material costs and development of appropriate strategies in support of the hotel operations Fulfil the purchasing requirements of the hotels under the Corporate Procurement guideline and ensure they are met in a timely, cost effective manner and adhere to Dorsett Hotel International quality standard and requirement Must have a good understanding of budget, forecasts, and P&L for the department. Monitor and maintain proper inventory to ensure it is in line with budgeted cost of sales To identify and seek for opportunities as they relate to cost reduction, improved quality, supplier rationalization to an effective number in support of the business along with supplier management process Must have the ability to influence others and adapt with the purchasing process Continuously review the operational procedures, recommend improvement plan and streamlining the operation Develop purchase price, cost and supply chain analysis for major categories of spend Conduct tender analysis of suppliers, product quality and purchase contracts To review regularly contracted supplies to ensure rates are still competitive Maintain awareness of potential sources, products and cost savings opportunities To communicate and coordinate for specification/branding requirement, sourcing, budget planning, mock-up room purchases and to ensure timely delivery of items and maximization of savings via group contracts where applicable To analyse market trends to anticipate likely price fluctuations, for the purpose of maintaining inventory either for long or short time periods Participate in major functional/business programs that contribute to continuous improvement of processes and that strengthen Purchasing in its role in meeting operation needs To ensure an inventory of orders received is recorded and meets procedures Essential Requirements A minimum five years’ experience in high volume purchasing (hotel experience essential) Experience in project procurement for hotel opening is an advantage Systems / PC skills (knowledge of MBT procurement system is an advantage) Proven negotiation skills Strong analytical skills Strong interpersonal skills Self-motivated, positive attitude and with high initiative and integrity · Exhibits high level of attention to details, results-oriented and the ability to multi-task handling 28 paid holidays per annum Discounts in our properties across London, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Excellent career progression Free meals on duty Pension Fantastic career growth opportunities Competitive salary Refer a Friend Scheme Eye Care voucher for VDU users A bit more about us Located in the heart of vibrant Shepherds Bush in West London and close to Westfield London shopping centre, the hotel is well connected to Notting Hill Gate, Kensington, London’s West End and other major tourist spots.
